"In The Nick Of Time"

Christmas ideas from Better Homes and Gardens Home Celebrations magazine 2000. Photographer was Mike Dieter.

Give people a peek at what is going to be their gift. Use fabric stiffener, called draping liquid, to give the outer peekaboo box it's shape. You place the gift box inside the stiffened fabric box.

Small containers turned into candles make great mantle arrangements or centerpieces when grouped together. Use vintage egg cups, candy dishes, teacups and bud vases to fill them using a candle making kit from a craft store.

Dress a bottle of wine with simple paper and tissue wrap.

Wrap a journal with textured paper and whimsical wire shapes for a one of a kind gift.

Turn store bought spices into a personal gift by putting them in a fabric pouch tied with cording and a leaf and a cinnamon stick.

Tabletop Christmas trees make great hostess gifts, place-setting decorations or favors for a dinner party.
