A Red and White Christmas

Country Living 1999. Photos by Al Teufen. The lady of the house lived in Ohio and I wonder if she is still there. She infused her home with the color white. White distressed furniture, white slipcovers, even white windows with no curtains.

She made her centerpiece out of tulips, pinecones whitewashed and cedar arranged in a stone planter along with cranberry glass compotes at each place setting with be-ribboned treats.
Red amaryllis, tulips and minature roses fit inside McCoy pottery on the mantle and in swan planter on the coffee table. Boxwood and cedar swags are at the windows. In the corner is a paisley table cover with a beautiful cloche on it and a string of cranberries adorns the mantle.

A cranberry wreath hangs over the New England cupboard door and white pine boughs and a string of cranberries adorn a wood and wire chandelier.

The tree is decorated with painted pine cones and talow berries. The tree is sitting in a white cast iron urn.

A red and white bedding and quilt make the bedroom fesstive. An angel made of architectural corbels add to the holiday spirit.
