More Christmas Ideas for Your Home

Source: Country Living 1999. Photos by John Blais.

This is the home of someone who collects textiles.
She has placed all different kinds of chairs around a refectory table. Her table decorations are made up of transferware cups filled with greenery. She hung simple green wreaths embellished with red flowers, in front of each window in the dining room.

She tied loose bows made of plaid and stripes to her Christmas tree. A French oil painting, cut velvet drapes and and a poppy and peony floral pillow on the slipcovered sofa make the room festive.

Printed chintz is the background for a transferware collection. The upholstered chair is done in ticking stripes.

Her table settings do not match. Her centerpiece consists of three cake stands stacked on top of each other filled with fruits and flowers.

More transferware.

I love the pine cone candles. Wrought iron chairs were transformed by using mosaics and they pull up to a marble top table. A wreath and a bowl of apples complete the Christmas scene.
